Columbia Rules Against Viagra

Start

In an unexpected move a judge in the South American country of Colombia has given a ruling that Pfizer the world’s largest drug company should stop selling Viagra in the country. Pfizer immediately said that they will appeal and continue to fight legal battles in Columbia for the right to sell their famous erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.

The court case that goes back over 3 years is related to the fact that a local Colombian company called Lafrancol has been making copies of the Viagra erectile dysfunction medicine called Eroxim. The copy looks exactly like Viagra in that it is diamond shaped and is also blue in colour. The company Lafrancol didn’t take then legal challenge by Pfizer lying down and immediately filed a counter suit arguing that it had a licence and permission from the Colombian medical authorities to sell and market Eroxim as an erectile dysfunction drug for men with impotence and sexual function problems.

Pfizer is still allowed to sell Viagra in Columbia until all legal remedies have been exhausted and will keep on appealing all the way to higher courts. Viagra has had problems with many illegal copies being made of its number one best selling erectile dysfunction medicine especially in parts of the world that have weak legal systems.

Viagra is also battling for its copyright in China and has been making a lot of headway in that regard; nevertheless illegal copies of Viagra are still being made there. The amount of illegal Viagra medication being produced in some parts of the world that is then sold online is huge.

Ukmedix only uses the real Viagra from Pfizer unlike many UK online pharmacies (many of which are not actually based in the UK and are illegal), which sell fake Viagra. Viagra is easily the most plagiarized drug in the world.
